InfoCity system is the first Czech public telephone service that allows for access to information databases using voice dialogue with the computer. This paper is mainly focused on the description of the speech synthesis module - one part of whole information system. The original Czech and Slovak text-to-speech (TTS) system with non-limited vocabulary reproduces an arbitrary Czech or Slovak text by the synthetic male voice. The speech synthesis method is based on the cepstral speech model.
