The contribution is devoted to the analysis and modelling of the melody of Czech utterances. The melody is decomposed in the sense of the Fujisaki's approach into the phrase component and into the accent component. Both components are described by the transfer functions of the speaker's phrase and accent control systems and by the corresponding excitation signals. The phrase component is modelled by linear prediction coding, the accent component is deconvolved by homomorphic signal processing.
