Helical wavefronts can be produced by transmission of coherent waves through spiral phase filters. This kind of wavefronts has in the center of the helicoid a singular point called an optical vortex. This contribution analyses the wave amplitude in the optical vortex as an integral of phases of all nearest rays around the singular point. It has been found that for a linear wedge it is the sinc square function, which describes this situation.
