AnnotationThe aim of the work is to describe the possible relationship between the mechanical fracture of different types of bone in relation to different kinds of mechanical loading. For the assessment of the critical values ofailure load under different loading conditions we use both mechanical testing in vitro and numerical modeling. Finite element models are constructed on the basis of data obtained from computer tomography and include material properties based on apparent density of the tissue.
