Relations between the dynamic tensile/shear moduli and structure (fibre fraction and type, porosity, weave pattern) of uni-or bidirectional carbon/carbon composites were studied using the resonant frequency technique. The longitudinal Young's modulus of unidirectional composites reflects changes induced by heat treatment. The shear modulus increases with increasing fibre fraction. For bi-directional composites, the Young's modulus is more sensitive to the weave pattern than to the fibre type.
