The objective of the present article is to demonstrate the applicability of the method of field estimation of soil hydraulic characteristics for the simulation of the soil water regime. The influence of the retention curve variability on the modelled water regime is studied. A source of retention curve variability is the natural soil heterogeneity inside one genetic soil horizon. Retention curves are measured on undisturbed soil samples of volume 100 cm3.
