AnnotationThe .sub.13 C(.sub.3He,d).sub.14 N proton transfer reactionhas been measured at an incident energy of 26.3 MeV. Angulardistributions for proton transfer to the ground state and excited states at 2.313 and 3.948 MeV in .sub.14 N are analyzedwithin the framework of the modified DWBA. Asymptotic normalization coefficients (ANC`s) defining the amplitude of the tails of the .sub.14 N bound-state wave functions in the .sub.13C+p channel are extracted that are in excellent agreement withvalues found previously with the .sub.13 C(.sub.14 N,.sub.13 C).sub.14 N reaction. We conclude that C.sub.2 .sup.p1/2=18.2(9)fm.sub.-1 and C.sub.2 .sup.p3/2=0.91(14) fm.sub.-1 for the virtual decay .sub.14 N(g.s.) .sub.13 C + p. These are necessaryfor the analysis of the .sub.14 N(.sub.7Be,.sub.8B).sub.13 Cand .sub.14 N(.sub.11 C,.sub.12 N).sub.13 C reactions to extract the ANC`s for .sub.7 Be + p .sub.8 B and .sub.11 C + p.sub.12 N, which determine the direct radiative capture crosssections .sub.7 Be(p,ç).sub.8 B and .sub.11 C(p,ç).sub.12 N at astrophysical energies.
