The rate of consumption of isobutyric acid and of formation of methacrylic acid and acetone depending of the degree of conversion of isobutyric acid indicated an autocatalytic reaction mechanism. A model of MoVI-O-MoV site has been suggested and the autocatalytic process to be due to formation of this site. Workplace J.
