The homogeneous precipitation method enabled the control of the assembly of mesoporous silicas by the variation of the decrease in pH. The synthesis of these materials was performed from an isotropic reaction mixture using a cationic surfactant as a structure directing agent. The decrease in pH, which causes the formation of solid particles, was achieved by hydrolysis of methyl acetate. The procedure enabled to obtain not only siliceous MCM-41 with the highest degree of pore ordering but also.
