A model was developed simulating the interactions between generalist insect predators and their prey. The model differs from the existing ones mainly by inclusion of the assumption of cannibalism among predators and by the absence of predator dynamics within the season. Prey individuals invade host plants at the random and are followed by random colonisation by predators, who reproduce only at the beginning of the season. These assumptions make the model much more realistic.
