There is a broad spectrum of ideas and opinions dealing with process of globalization. Two extreme views are the most frequent discussed: one promoting this process as something really good and natural for our social development, and the second critical view refusing global processes at all, seeking for some new alternative way of our life. The role of information is extremely important in the whole process of changes. Some authors suppose that information mostly plays a positive role giving us an important material for our right decision- making. In our opinion the situation is not so clear. Our paper tries to look at this topic not from this one dimensional point of view. We focused on the whole problem of globalization and the role of information under broader circumstances pointing out the failures and potential threats of our informational world.
