Reactive copper phthalocyanine dye immobilized on silanized magnetite particles was used as a specific magnetic adsorbent for the study of interactions with several tricyclic drugs. Magnetically modified copper phthalocyanine specifically interacts with all tricyclic drugs tested (Amitriptyline, Diethazine, Chlorprothixene, Bisulepin, Prochlorperazine, Dothiepin, Thioridazine). This magnetic adsorbent can be used to isolate the target drugs from various samples using magnetic solid-phase extraction.
