Chromatic form of crystal violet was used as a model compound in order to test a preconcentration procedure MSPE (magnetic solid-phase extraction) for the detection and determination of low concentration of target analytes in urine. Silanized magnetite particles with immobilized reactive copper phthalocyanine dye were used as an affinity ligand. Using MSPE low concentrations (5 ppb) of dye were spectrophotometrically detected.
