    The fluorescence quenching of chlorophyll a in the presence of thirteen selected aromatic compounds was studied in a micellar system containingĺphosphate buffer and Triton X-100 using a pulse-modulated fluorimeter. The highest relative fluorescence decline was observed for 1-nitropyrene.
