Stať sleduje průběh stavebních prací na katedrále sv. Víta a je doplněn stručným shrnutím současného stavu poznání o unikátní bronzové soše sv. Jiří, odlité r. 1373 v dílně bratrů Martina a Jiřího v sedmihradské Kluži. Upozorňuje na stále otevřenou otázku původního umístění sochy a doby, kdy se dostala na Pražský hrad, rekapituluje ve zkratce její přemisťování v areálu Hradu a zvláště problematické restaurování v roce 1942 J. Schneiderem z Mnichova.

The study deals with the course of construction work on St Vitus Cathedral. It comprises a brief summary of currently available information about the unique brass statue of St George, cast in 1373 in the workshop of brothers Martin and George in Cluj, Romania. It highlights the still open issue of the original placement of the statue and the time it got to the Prague Castle. It briefly summarises its movement in the Castle area and in particular the problematic restoration by J. Schneider from Munich in 1942.
