AnnotationThe study focuses on an unknown university thesis by Johann Anton Losy of Losinthal from 1667, advocated by Prague painter Johann Fridrich Hess of Hesice. The thesis became the key to discovering the origin of the outstanding Baroque lute player, Count Losy. It helped unveil the moving circumstances under which his father left the native town of Piuro in Grisonia and which preceded his sharp social ascent in the imperial service.
