Kniha se zabývá rozsáhlou knižní tvorbou malířky Toyen od fotomontážních obálek z poloviny dvacátých let až po surrealistické bibliofilie šedesátých a sedmdesátých let 20. století a zároveň si všímá vzájemného vztahu mezi náročnými uměleckými úkoly a každodenními zakázkami pro obživu.

The book deals with Toyen's extensive work for books, ranging from photomontage covers from around 1925 to the surrealist bibliophilia of the 1960s and 1970s. At the same time, it monitors the relationship between demanding artistic tasks and everyday orders done for a living.
