The article concentrates on Kramář's studies at the Vienna University where he defended under the guidance of Alois Riegel and Franz Wickhoff a theses about the reception of Gothic architecture in theoretical treatises of the modern era. This unpublished work is exceptional in the context of Czech art history because of its focus on written sources.
