A diffusion denuder for artifact-free sampling of carbonaceous aerosols on filters is described. The denuder collects organic gases as well as oxidising species while the aerosols pass through it and can be collected on the filter downstream of the denuder. The developed method is compatible with collections on 47-mm diameter quartz fibre filters at a flow rate of 16.6 L/min.
