The aim of the boat campaign was to measure gaseous nitrogen reactive species (nitrogen dioxide and nitrous and nitric acids), ozone and sulphur dioxide, over the Aegean Sea. Within this time the direction of the boat was adjusted to follow the forecasted airmass trajectories ending at the Finokalia station. The data showed a number of episodes with rapid changes in reactive nitrogen (nitrogen dioxide up to 120 ppb (v/v), nitric acid up to 33 ppb (v/v), nitrous acid up to 2.5 ppb (v/v)) compounds, ozone (up to 88 ppb (v/v) and sulfur dioxide (up to 9.2 ppb (v/v). The spiked episodes were correlated with boats upwind a short distance from the R/V Agaeon.
