Influence of experimental parameters of flow injection generation and in situ collection within transversely heated graphite furnace for atomic absorption spectrometric determination of nickel was investigated. Acidity of the reaction mixture, kinetics of carbonyl formation, the temperature of the tube, gas flow rate and the position of the capillary are the most critical parameters. Under optimum conditions, an overall efficiency of about 80 percent can be achieved.
