Efficiency of wet chemical generation of nickel tetracarbonyl and of electrothermal trapping of nickel from volatile carbonyl within a longitudinally heated graphite furnace was studied separately by radioactive indicator technique using 56, 57Ni nuclides. Under optimum conditions, generation and trapping efficiency of 90 and 95 percent, respectively, were achieved. Radiography exhibited that nickel is collected in a small trace on the wall opposite to the injection hole.
