Annotation
Politická integrace se zpožďuje za průběhem integrace ekonomické. Na vnitřních hranicích států EU probíhá paralelně proces denacionalizace. Situaci na hranicích ČR a SRN charakterizuje chybějící kontinuita poválečného vývoje jak v oblasti politické, tak vyšší stupeň propojení ekonomik. V důsledku poválečného vysídlení německy mluvících obyvatel chybí oblast sociálního prolínání s efektem bilingválnosti, zůstávají přítomny bariéry historické paměti.

The role of of the nation state is decreasing, but national/regional identity has maintained its presence, although its form has been modified by the process of globalisation. On the inner borders of the member states of the EU a parallel process of de-nationalisation is underway. As a result of the post-war expulsion of the German-speaking population, a social interaction with the effect of bilingualism is lacking, and on the civic level, barriers of historical memory persist. The social consequences of the integration process for the borderland are ambiguous in content and dynamics.
