Příspěvek hodnotí v retrospektivě průběh česko-německého dialogu po roce 1989 a konfrontuje některé aspekty česko-německé deklarace s výsledky sociologických výzkumů v českém pohraničí. Kromě historické zátěže se na problémech v komunikaci obou partnerů podílejí důsledky transformačních procesů, jimiž prochází česká společnost.

Contribution brings retrospective view of the Czech-German dialogue after 1989 and compare some aspects of The Czech-German Declaration with results of sociological polls made within the Czech Borderland. Besides historical burden participate on communication problems of both partners also consequences of transformation processes absorbing large part of potential of Czech society.
