Information-processing paradigm of the psychological research ofcognition in the Anglo-Saxon region lays the foundation for thefollowing trends of cognitive movement: [1] classical cognitivepsychology, [2] developmentally oriented cognitive psychology,[3] cognitive science, and [4] connectionism. The main contradictionof the information-processing paradigm resides in the discordantdelimination of the concept of representation. The contradictionin the conceptions of symbolic and subsymbolic representation isinterpreted as a result of differing paradigms - paradigm ofrepresentation and paradigm of presentation.
