    AnnotationRib waveguides have been fabricated in pulsed-laser-deposited Ti:sapphire layers using photolithograohic patterning and subsequent Ar + -beam milling. Fluorescence output powers up to 300ćW have been observed from the robs following excitation bya 3-W multiline argon laser.Loss measurements have yielded comparable value for the ribs and the unstructured planar wave guide counterparts.
