Relation between electronic structure and magnetism in UPtAl was studied by ab initio band structure calculations in conjuction with several experiments on single crystals focused on magnetic moments (magnetization and neutron-diffraction measurements), magnetic entropy, and anomalous magnetic moment contributions to specific heat and electrical resitivity.
