    In the case of Ce doping efficient non-radiative recombination at Ce sites takes place, resulting in lower light yields and faster luminiscence and scintillation response. Tb 3+, Sm 3+ and Pr 3+ doping results in an additional emission-the leading emission lines are obtained at 543,641 and 602 nm, respectively.
