It was found that Cr in BaTiO_3 crystals reveals a characteristic luminescence with four sharp emission lines at 781,6(A_1), 776,4(A_2), 768,8(A_3) and 766,8nm(A_4) for 74K. Considering EPR data , temperature- and lifetime behaviour, the A_3 and A_4 lines are interpreted to be R_1,2-lines originated from zero-phonon transitions of octahedral Cr3+ replacing Ti4+.
