A time series of images restored by the phase diversity method was used to study horizontal motions of granules in the vicinity of a sunspot and evolution of penumbral grains. Organized motions of local divergence centres directed away from the spot were found. Some outward-moving penumbral grains were observed to escape from the penumbra surrounding granulation.
