Studie představuje pokus o shrnutí a utřídění poznatků o významném českém vynálezci v oboru zbrojní techniky S. Krnkovi, který se díky působení v nacionálně vypjatém období 2. pol. 19. stol.- konkrétně díky odmítnutí ze strany Rakouska a úspěchu v Rusku - stal jedním ze symbolů tehdejší české občanské společnosti.

The study attemps to summarize and critically classify used knowledge of a significant Czech inventor in the armament technology-related area, S. Krnka who became one of the symbols of the Czech community of that time due to his performance in the nationally tense period of the second half of the 19th century, particulary due to Austrian refusal and succes in Russia.
