    This article deals with the present state and character of the investigations of deserted medieval settlement in the Czech Republic. A number of examples are used to show a combination of geophysical methods and subsequent archaeological excavations that are used to determine the overall structure and picture of the settlement, as well as to explain settlement patterns in the regions of Bohemia and Moravia.
