Language eng - English Country GB - United Kingdom Keywords Central Europe ; Magdalenian ; settlement archaeology Subject RIV AC - Archeology, Anthropology, Ethnology CEZ AV0Z8001916 - ARUB-Q Annotation The regions on the middle Danube River (Moravia, Lower Austria) and upper Elbe river (Bohemia) represent two important provinces, geographically separated, at the eastern Magdalenian periphery. Analysis of the adaptation strategies, as reflected in the archaeological record, suggests a certain degree of variation in Magdalenian settlement pattern, hunting specialization, and art. In addition, the marginal location of both regions allows cultural comparisons with the Epigravettian.
