AnnotationTheory for a disk probe is compared with existing numerical solutions and confirmed by electrochemical experiment under limiting diffusion conditions, using potentiostatic transient. The theory is relevant also for heat transfer probes, where the edge effects are even stronger than in analogous mass transfer experiments, as the thermal diffusion coefficient is much higher.
