A summary of evidence on the development of poverty in the Czech Republic since 1989 is provided. First, the new sources of poverty after 1989 are described. Second, a variety of measurements that reveal different faces of poverty are presented. Third, the relative ease with which it is possible to leave the labour force and the impact of departures on household income is considered. Fourth, the working poor are examined and compared with non-working poor

Publikace obsahuje shrnutí projevů vývoje chudoby v České republice od roku 1989. Nejprve se popisují nové zdroje chudoby po roce 1989. Dále publikace prezentuje řadu měření, která odhalují různé podoby chudoby. Následuje uvážení relativní jednoduchosti, se kterou je možné opustit pracovní síly, a vliv těchto odchodů na příjmy domácnosti. Publikace zkoumá pracující chudé a srovnává je s nepracujícími chudými
