A new conodont zonation of the Pragian Stage (Lower Devonian) in the stratotype area (Barrandian, central Bohemia).

Pragian conodont faunas were studied in the stratotype area of the Pragian Stage, and an alternative proposal for Pragian conodont biozonation is suggested. Conodont faunas obtained from 187 samples taken from 13 sections and localities indicate that the present standard global conodont zonal scale, comprising the sulcatus, kindlei and pireneae zones, is not applicable to the type area of the Pragian Stage. The newly suggested zonation is threefold, involving steinachensis, serratus and celtibericus zones, and provides a good correlation with some Barrandian-related areas. The best indicator of the proximity of the classical Emsian Stage base in the Barrandian is the entry of Latericriodus bilatericrescens gracilis BULTYNCK

Na základě výsledků studia konodontových faun pragu ze stratotypové oblasti pražského stupně je navržena alternativní konodontová biozonace pragu. Konodontová fauna získaná ze 187 vzorků z 13 profilů a lokalit potvrzuje, že tzv. standardní globální konodontová zonální škála, která zahrnuje zóny sulcatus, kindlei a pireneae není použitelná ve vlastní stratotypové oblasti pragu. Nově navržená zonace je třístupňová, zahrnuje zóny steinachensis, serratus a celtibericus, a umožňuje dobrou korelaci s některými Barrandienu příbuznými oblastmi. Nejlepším indikátorem, pro bázi klasického (německého) emsu v Barrandienu je nástup taxonu Latericriodus bilatericrescens gracilis Bultynck
