Snaha o zvládnutí ischemické choroby srdeční se v budoucnu soustředí nejen na vývoj účinné primární a sekundární prevence, ale i léčby, která bude schopna zmenšit rozsah poškození.

Although the management of ischaemic heart disease will center on the development of effective primary prevention, the impact of these strategies may be limited. There is, therefore, an urgent need for effective forms of secondary prevention and, in particular, treatment that will limit the extent of evolving myocardial infarction during the acute phase of coronary occlusion.
