Dílo je českým příspěvkem k členitému mezinárodnímu bádání o středověké učené literatuře, určené pro potřeby duchovních správců a zpovědníků, která se dotýká současně práva a teologie. Je výsledkem soustavného průzkumu rukopisů zachovaných v knihovnách České republiky a je součástí souborné katalogizace rukopisů. Připojeny jsou podrobné rejstříky: seznam zkratek, incipitů, užitých citovaných rukopisů a jmenný rejstřík.

The work is a Czech contribution to the various international research in the medieval learned literature devoted to needs of clergymen and confessors which simultaneously relates to law and theology. It is a result of systematic study of manuscripts preserved in libraries of the Czech Republic and it is a part of the collected cataloguing of manuscripts. Detailed indices are added: list of abbreviations, incipits, quoted manuscripts and index of names.
