AnnotationThe article summarizes the research results of the fine root status and element contents in three Norway spruce stands in Krkonoše Mts. The distibution of fine root, root regenerative potencial and Al:Ca ratios as indicators of soil acidity have been investigated. In conclusion, there were clear differences in the distribution of fine roots at the three sites; the fine root distribution cannot be explained in terms of the current soil chemical environment.
