AnnotationOrganic salts with melting points near the ambient temperature, or room-temperature ionic liquids (RTILs), have recently received growing attention as environmentally benign solvents for synthesis or extraction. In this contribution, supercritical fluid chromatography has been shown to provide a viable method for rapid acquisition of partitioning data on low-volatility solutes in a RTIL-supercritical carbon dioxide system. Solute partition coefficients will be needed in applications of neoteric, "green", solvent/reaction media systems comprising ionic liquids and supercritical fluids
