Two females of /Carassius gibelio/ were collected 5.3.2002 on the central fish market in Istanbul. These specimens originated from the Kayaliköy dam near the city of Kirklareli in Turkish Thrace. The ploidy level of the fish was estimated by computer-assisted image analyses of erythrocyte nuclear size. The mean nuclear area of 100 measured cells was 19.85 ± 2.00 µm^2 and 18.27 ^ ± 1.64 µm^2 respectively, therefore both females were triploids. Since /C. gibelio/ is known to be a hazardous fish species for native fish communities, the spread of this species should be dammed

Dvě samice karase stříbřitého byly objeveny na centrálním rybím trhu v Istanbulu. Oba jedinci pocházeli z přehradní nádrže Kayaliköy poblíž města Kirklareli v turecké části Thrákie. Ploidie byla určena pomocí měřením velikosti jader erytrocytů digitální analýzou obrazu. Průměrná velikost 100 měřených jader byla 19.85 ± 2.00 µm^2 and 18.27 ^ ± 1.64 µm^2 . Je známo, že /C. gibelio/ patří mezi invazní druhy s negativním vlivem na původní ichtyofaunu, proto by jeho rozšiřování mělo být maximálně bráněno vzhledem k vysokému endemismu v řekách a jezerech Anatolie
