    Rpg1p/Tif32p/eIF3a is the large subunit of the eIF3 core complex involved in translation initiation in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. We prepared and analzyed the phenotyp of a new mutant rpg1-2. Similarly to the rpg1-1 mutant, the mutant rpg1-2 arrests in the G1 phase but in contrast, it is unable to recover after the treatment with the microtubule disrupting drug nocodazole at the restrictive temperature 37°C. This phenotype is similar to the phenotype of the tcp1 deletion mutant what indicates a potential role of Rpg1p in the refolding of tubulin after the nocodazole treatment.

    Rpg1p/Tif32p/eIF3a je velkou podjednotkou eIF3 komplexu kvasinky Saccharomyces cerevisiae. V této práci jsme analyzovali fenotyp mutantu rpg1-2. Podobně jako mutant rpg1-1 mutant, mutant rpg1-2 zastavuje v G1 fázi, ale na rozdíl od tohoto mutantu není schopen obnovy mikrotubulárního systému po uvolnění z nocodazolu v restriktivní teplotě. Tehto fenotyp je podobný fenotypu mutantu tcp1beta což naznačuje možnou ulohu Rpg1 v refoldingu tubulinu.
