Conjugate containing doxorubicin bound via pH sensitive bond has much higher in vitro cytostatic effect in comparison with conjugates containing doxorubicin bound via enzymaticly degradable bond. Fas and Bax expression is stronger after exposition of 38C13 cells to PHPMA-DoxHYD conjugates, while caspase 8 expression is stronger in PHPMA-DoxAM conjugates.

N-(2-hydroxypropyl)metakrylamid nesoucí doxorubicin navázaný prostřednictvím pH senzitivní vazby je v in vitro systému účinější než konjugát s enzymaticky štěpitelnou vazbou mezi doxorubicinem a polymerním nosičem. Hydrolyticky štěpitelný konjugát indukuje expresi pro-apoptotických proteinů Fas a bax.
