    AnnotationWe have proved that coelomic cytolytic factor in Eisenia fetida earthworms as compared to those in other Lumbricid species is unique - it has a broader saccharide-binding specificity, being the only one recognizing N,N´-diacetylchitobiose. Moreover we document the presence of two distinct genes encoding two sphingomyelin-binding proteins, fetidin and lysenin, that are only present in E. fetida earthworms
