Inoculation with AM fungi increases soil aggregation due to binding of particles by extraradical mycelium; disturbance of this network leads to delay of mycorrhizal colonisation of grass seedlings and to decrease of alkaline phosphatase activity in mycelial hyphae. Mycelial transport of 32P between grasses and trees was detected.
