AnnotationPresent study deals with trickle-bed reactor intensification in case of hydrogenation of olefines from steam pyrolysis gasoline process, by application of periodic feed rate modulation and control. Hydrogenation of styrene and dicyclopentadiene on egg-shell palladium catalyst, was chosen as model reaction. Results of autoclave hydrogenation on pellet catalyst were compared with continuous hydrogenation in bench scale trickle bed reactor. Steady state styrene hydrogenation tests in bench scale trickle-bed reactor confirm parameters evaluated in a laboratory stirred tank reactor.
