Příspěvek prezentuje obraz vnímání Německa v názorech a postojích místních elit v česko-německém příhraničí ve fázi přistoupení ČR k Evropské unii. Konstatuje přítomnost některých pozitivních prvků spolupráce formou lokálních partnerství. Výsledky jsou však limitovány asymetrií vztahu a omezeným kooperačním potenciálem partnerů.

The contribution presents an image of the Federal Republic of Germany reflected by attitudes and opinion of members of local elites within the Czech-German borderland during the phase of entering of the Czech Republic into the European Union. There are observed some positive sings of local cooperation although limited by lack of potential ability and asymmetry of partnership.
