V české části hornoslezské pánve byla realizována sedimentologicko-stratigrafická studie petřkovických vrstev. Tyto sedimenty jsou součástí výplně uhlonosné předpolní pánve. Cílem projektu bylo porozumět procesům, jež řídily sedimentaci této jednotky, se zvláštním zřetelem na rytmické sedimenty typické pro tento stratigrafický interval.

A sedimentological-stratigraphic study of the upper part of the Petřkovice member was performed in the Czech part of the Upper Silesian Basin. These sediments are part of the coal-bearing foreland basin's fill. The aim of the project was the understanding of processes which governed the sedimentation, with a special respect to the rhythmic sediments typical for this stratigraphic interval.
