Behaviors of wavelet transform of seismological signals are studied in the IGN in the long term. This transform contrary of the Fourier transform automatically modulates width of windows for frequency and time domain (it means that it is method of time-frequency analysis).

V rámci výzkumu na ÚGN jsou dlouhodobě zkoumány vlastnosti waveletové transformace pro tuto oblast digitálních dat. Waveletová transformace, na rozdíl od nejčastěji užívané Fourierovy transformace, automaticky adaptuje šířku okna jak ve frekvenční oblasti, tak i v časové oblasti (patří tedy mezi metody časově-frekvenční analýzy).
