One of the methods of improving such situations is the application of a chemical grouting that will result in formation of a coal geo-composite in the surroudings of the underground roadway. The properties of such a coal geo-composite differ from the ones of the original coal seam. Presented paper discusses the differences between the behaviour of coal geo-composites and the behaviour of pure coal that were observed during mechanical tests in the laboratory.
